Because you’re constantly reacting to the world, it’s easy to notice what is happening around you. You respond to what you read in a letter from a friend or what you see on the evening news. Even choosing not to respond evokes a reaction in your body. You are part of that world. You’re touched by everything that happens. Think of the WHOLE WORLD as made up of interrelating parts and you are one of those parts.
You, as a WHOLE PERSON, are also made up of interrelating parts that are affecting each other, constantly monitored and regulated by our “inner doctor” who is the President of your being.
These aspects of who you are work together like members of a TEAM. …
For your team to be effective, each member must have its needs met and must be able to work in harmony with the other team members. When one team member has a problem, the other members are affected. Your life gets out of balance.
It is time to take stock of your life, re-evaluate and re-elect your “Inner Doctor”!
Often, we see our TEAM members struggling on their own and, rather than listening to our “inner doctor”, they loose their ability to take appropriate orders to bring balance.
Your awareness of your interacting inner TEAM is a powerful tool which you can use to figure out what might work best to get things back into balance and harmony.
Taking the first step
Once you have determined your personal wellness goals, it is time to decide what changes you must make to achieve them. Be patient with yourself. Creating wellness is an ongoing process. You can reach your wellness goals, even difficult ones, one step at a time.
The most important step is the first one. Ask yourself: which change will benefit me the most? Are you willing to make this change? If so, get started on your path to wellness by making this your first step.
5 tips to help you change your health
· Practice a beneficial activity more frequently. You could remember to smile more often, especially at people who look like they need cheering up.
· Launch a new activity which is beneficial. You might stop at a park on your way home from work and take a few minutes to relax and unwind.
· Replace an unhealthy choice with a beneficial one. Instead of ordering a carbonated beverage or another cup of coffee, have a glass of water or fruit juice.
· Eliminate a harmful choice. If you are a smoker, quit. This could be the most important health decision you ever make.
· Reduce harmful practices gradually. If you have a strong sweet tooth and are not ready to completely eliminate sugar from your diet, just eat less of it as a start.
