The Secret to Living Fearlessly

SEEING LIFE FROM THE OTHER SIDE.

By Persephone Kianka

Anita Moorjani, the bestselling author known for her astounding near-death experience (NDE), is devoted to sharing a
simple yet profound truth she realised on the other side.

In 2006, her four-year battle with cancer ended with her falling into a coma, which she was never expected to wake from. Little did her doctors and loved ones know, in this state she was having an NDE where she was given the choice to return to her physical body or stay in this other realm. After choosing to come back, she woke from the coma, and her cancer rapidly began to heal.

To everyone around her, it was inexplicable, but Anita had returned with the crystal-clear knowing that her body
would heal and why it had gotten sick in the first place. When we sat down to chat with her, she shared the details of what she saw and learned on the other side, how it’s affected her life since, and what it means for us as a collective.

THE MOST IMPORTANT THING

The first thing that facilitated her healing, she explained, was seeing who she really was, underneath the sick person she appeared to be.

“The simplest way I can say it is that I learned that the most important thing was self-love”; a revolutionary realisation after a lifetime of people-pleasing and treating herself like a “doormat”, as encouraged by her culture.

Before this, Anita had been fearful of everything, such as displeasing people and expressing her true self, to the point that she made herself invisible. It was only after her NDE that she realised she wasn’t meant to live like that.

“I would see God in everyone else’s eyes, but I had never seen God in my own eyes, and I was just as much an expression of God as everyone else.”

WALKING THE PATH

We asked Anita how this profound understanding has shaped her subsequent life experience, and her response may not
be what you expect.

When you have an NDE, it isn’t just a once-off experience, she explained; it’s like a door has been opened and you walk
through that door, meaning even once you’re back in your body, it keeps unfolding because you’re now going in a different direction.

You still have free will, but like Anita, you will likely choose to go down a more empowering path now that you understand your true nature as a powerful creator.

All the information you receive on the other side is so expansive and hard to fit into the human perspective, in a sense, so it takes time to integrate after you come back.

“You keep walking the path that it’s shown you so that more and more awakens in you as you’re walking,” she told us.

Even now she feels that she’s still being guided by that experience, as she chooses to live with and through it.

THE HUMAN EXPERIENCE

She admits that being on the other side is easier, which is why her consciousness didn’t want to come back initially, but after realising she still had a purpose to fulfil here, she decided to. She wants to make it clear, however, that knowing the truth doesn’t mean life is always easy for her.

She still retains some traits from her upbringing, which never socialised her to be assertive, let alone a public speaker.

“I would never have imagined this life for me,” she mused.

That being said, the more she naturally grows into this new life, the more she feels like her real self. It feels really right, but at the same time like she’s constantly being pushed outside of her human comfort zone.

If she receives negative comments or reviews, for example, it still affects her emotionally and makes her question herself. Like most of us, she also gets overwhelmed by all the suffering in the world and doubts whether she can make a real difference.

She’s still human, but looking back on her journey, she can say, “I really have manifested everything I wanted to, even though it felt painful sometimes”.

ALL THE WORLD’S A STAGE

The impact of Anita’s cultural background on her soul’s journey led us to discuss what cultures mean from a spiritual perspective.

“I see it all as like a costume, like a fun game; it’s not who we really are,” Anita shared with assuredness. The same goes
for our gender, race, religion and any other identity marker.

After suffering immensely due to the gender disparity in her culture, it was a great relief for her to realise that we shed all of these classifications, and accompanying emotional baggage, in the afterlife.

“Without all of that, who you are underneath is pure consciousness and pure consciousness is pure love,” she assured us.

This realisation has allowed Anita to understand that many people who are destructive in this world by imposing their beliefs on others genuinely believe they are doing good because of the way they’ve been indoctrinated.

In essence, we are all the same; we’re just playing different roles in human created dramas, which will all become irrelevant when we die. Therefore, Anita urges us to see through these illusions now so we have the opportunity to get closer to the other souls around us while we’re still on Earth.

THE LANGUAGE OF SOULS

She also had wisdom to share for anyone struggling to connect with a loved one, informed by her challenging relationship with her dad, who passed away ten years before her NDE.

During his life, she always felt that he was ashamed of her for rebelling against their culture. Therefore, when she encountered him again in the afterlife, she expected judgement, but to her amazement she received the opposite.

“All I got from him was pure unconditional love,” she said, and she also finally understood that he had been a victim of the same culture.

In that other realm, their two souls merged, and she knew what he wanted her to know without words. It was actually him who encouraged her to go back and live her life fearlessly, illustrating the transformative power of reconnecting with one’s true nature: love.

“He was the one that instilled fear in me in life, but in death he set me free from that fear.”

Therefore, if you want to communicate with someone difficult in your life, Anita recommends you imagine talking to their soul, which they will feel because we’re all part of the same consciousness. Given that they have been indoctrinated a certain way in this life, this often works better than talking to their physical self.

If it’s a deceased person, she assures us that they hold no animosity towards us. They want us to be happy and are helping us from the other side.

Interestingly, she believes that the loved ones who caused us the most pain in life are usually the ones helping us the
most from the other side. This makes sense as the truth they realise after dying is so vastly different to what they believed during their lifetime.

A MIRROR BALL OF CONSCIOUSNESS

In light of her profound experience and understanding, of course we had to ask Anita what our human existence is all about from a higher perspective. While it’s hard to put into words, she explained, “it feels like it is a collective consciousness” encompassing the most evolved version of each of us, which is on the other side, pulling us towards that evolution.

The mirror ball analogy she gave us makes this a little clearer.

Imagine a mirror or disco ball where each mirror tile is the soul of one person, and there are billions of them. Even though you can identify them as individual tiles, they’re all connected to the same ball. Then, imagine that the light each one refracts onto a wall is a physical person, so each speck of light on the wall looks and feels separate from the others. In other words, when each soul is projected onto a physical life form, as a human, you feel separate, but when you remerge with your soul, you remember we’re all one.

In essence, the mirror ball, representing all our souls united as one, is the most perfect version of who we are.

THE WAY FORWARD

Anita acknowledges that our collective values up until now—ruthlessness, competition, and constant expansion—are leading to the detriment of humankind and the planet.

“We will be at the brink of our own extinction if we don’t change the metrics of what it means to be strong and if we don’t start rewarding different traits and see those as strengths,” she cautioned.

We’ve been rewarding all these harmful traits and heralding people who possess them as the ones who should lead the world, which is why so many of our resources are being used to destroy and kill.

She believes changing this starts with us, as individuals, being kind to ourselves and the people around us, including strangers.

“You’d be surprised how much [kindness] spreads,” she remarked. It sounds cliché, but it’s true that little acts of kindness can go a long way and eventually change the world.

Anita recalls offering to pay for a stranger in line ahead of her in a store who couldn’t afford what she wanted to buy. It was just a couple of dollars and not a big deal to Anita, but the woman started crying after Anita said, “Let me pay for this for you”. The cashier, who was about to put the item back, was also moved, which in turn touched Anita, showing the powerful chain reaction of kindness.

SECRETS FROM THE AFTERLIFE

At our full-day event with Anita in October in partnership with Seminars.ie, she will be able to go into more depth on all of this, especially given the location.

You see, the last time she visited Ireland, she noticed that it’s a place that really welcomes psychics and healers,
and “feels like home to people who are connected to the other world”.

“So, I feel doing a workshop in a space like that with energy like that, I can take people a lot deeper in their journey
and a lot deeper in their learning and their understanding of the afterlife,” she told us excitedly.

She’s going to start off by sharing her story, then talk to people about how to break through their belief systems. To assist with this process, she will take participants through a simulated NDE.

The title of the event, Secrets from the Afterlife, is actually the title of the new book she’s working on, she revealed. Having spent more time living these truths and putting them into practice in the world, this will go even deeper than her first book, Dying to Be Me, about what she learned on the other side.

SCIENCE MEETS SPIRITUALITY

We also went on a little trip down memory lane with Anita about when that book was published; after reading it, Dr Bruce Lipton was amazed to find she had experienced what he talks about. When he met her at a publishing event in 2012, he actually said to her, “I read your book, and you are the poster child of what I talk about,” she recalled.

They’ve been friends since, and for people who want a scientific understanding of what happened to her, she refers them to Bruce’s work.

“What I love is he puts science to what happened to me,” she shared.

Likewise, when people want to know a lived example of how belief influences biology, Bruce tells them, “go to Anita Moorjani’s event, and you’ll realise what it is that I’m talking about”.

The timing of our upcoming events, with Bruce’s lecture in November taking place shortly after Anita’s workshop, offers participants the wonderful opportunity to get the full picture—Anita’s lived experience and Bruce’s scientific explanation—from two phenomenal speakers and spiritual teachers. You can purchase tickets to both through our website linked below.

A FINAL MESSAGE

As a final message, Anita wanted to tell our audience, “Don’t buy into the fear that’s being generated in the world right now. I know people are suffering, but the best way you can help people who are suffering is by uplifting yourself and then being there as an uplifted self for other people. Don’t feel like you have to be downtrodden in order to help the world, or don’t feel guilty if your life is going well, because remember we are all connected. When you bring a positive energy, a positive vibe to yourself, you’re actually contributing to the whole.”

It is comforting to know, especially for us empaths as I’m sure many of our readers are, that expressing ourselves fully is actually the most selfless thing we can do. As we shine our unique light unapologetically, it will naturally cause those around us to brighten too, until the beauty of our collective mirror ball is seen and felt by all.
