In our Autumn 2020 issue, Elle Fox of CNM (The College of Naturopathic Medicine) wrote about the drawbacks of gluten, while Svetlana Sidorova provided us with a great gluten-free recipe for Buckwheat and Almond Meal Bread. We can’t wait to try it out!

Sowan’s gluten free baking mixes were one of our recent favourites at the Allergy and Gluten-Free Expo in the RDS in Dublin. They’ve shared a very interesting little recipe for some great, gluten-free, dairy free brownies to healthily chomp down on this winter.
Ingredients:
- Sowan’s Gluten Free Brownie Mix
- 4 eggs
- 275g of sweet potato steamed/boiled and mashed
Method:
1. Preheat oven to 190°C or 170°C for fan oven
2. Beat eggs and sweet potato in a bowl
3. Gradually add Sowan’s chocolate gluten free brownie mix
4. Transfer to a prepared tin
5. Bake for 40 minutes
You can also mix it up by adding mini-marshmallows, pecans, or a few tablespoons of nut butter, as well as chia seeds, raspberries or dried fruit for extra goodness and texture.
