Welcoming Change & Love – Amanda Collins shares a touching Feng Shui experience

A colleague once hired me to Feng Shui her neighbour’s home as a gift to him. The day I arrived at his house, he was completely drunk. I reminded myself that I was there to be of service and that this is why I do what I do so I trusted in the Divine process and went ahead.

“What is this Feng Shui stuff anyway?” he asked. As I walked in, I felt a sharp, stabbing sensation in my chest. I looked around and there was a machete on the wall pointing right at me, along with other knives. My new client had been sharing that no one came to visit him anymore, not even his children or grandchildren. It had been years since he had seen them. I explained that the knives on the wall were keeping away good energy and the people in his life. The next thing I knew, he was ripping the knives off the wall and throwing them out the front door! I knew he was ready for change.

His home was a Feng Shui nightmare. Artwork consisted of knives, guns and pictures of when he was in the army. His past had not been a kind one. His home needed serious love. It was cluttered, far from clean, in need of repair, painting and new live plants.

I noted that he was sleeping in a single bed, with no nightstands and all the photos in his bedroom were of him alone. I told him to get a queen sized bed so both he and a love could fit and a pair of night stands so they would each have somewhere to place their things. I suggested artwork representing love and romance. I also encouraged some steps outside of Feng Shui to help support him moving forward in life.

I always show up present to consultations and left feeling I had done all I needed to do. I sent him a report of my suggestions. I waited, but did not hear anything back. A couple of weeks later, I sent another email checking in but still heard nothing.

But about five months later, I received a call from him wanting to know if he could send a limousine since he wanted me to come back to his home! I said I would be delighted to drive over myself. As I arrived to the door, I could hear beautiful classical music playing even though it was the middle of the day. He had a water fountain flowing, fresh plants, and I could see lit candles and an AA book on the coffee table. I would not have known I was in the same home. It was like a sacred sanctuary – welcoming and peaceful and filled with pictures of him with his family and soft nature scenes. He hadn’t had a drink in months, had joined a book and music club and had reunited with his family. His only dilemma now was choosing between three different ladies he had met!

As I looked at his happy face, listened to how his life had changed, and walked through his beautiful home, my eyes filled with tears of joy and fulfillment. And all the while inside I could hear, “This is why I do what I do.”
