The Allergy Expo 2015: Our Top Picks From Dublin & What To Look Out For in Cork

Allergy Expo 2015 - Cork, Dublin
The 2015 Allergy and Free From Expo too place in the RDS Dublin 10-11 October this year as well as taking place in Cork this weekend.  After spending much of our time sampling all the treats on offer in Dublin, and listening in to the cooking demos, we thought we’d put out some tips of who to check out if you’re headed to the Cork event or if you just want to find out more about some great suppliers for free from foods.

Possibly a surprising one as it’s not often we get to mention big chains but they’re doing fabulous work becoming a supermarket with a difference. Their Food Academy at the expo was super and you can pick up Nobo Ice Cream, Happy Pear pestos and chocolate from Dr. Coys in their stores nationwide. They’re also introducing more and more local producers and their health isle in their Blackrock store is as well stocked as a local health food store and even offers books and magazines on health. supervalu.ie

It’s a bold name for a business but they live up to their title! So you get their Organic Activated nuts and you go nuts and you soak them in water! This brings out even more nutrients making them super good for you. Andrew, the man behind the product also throws a little maple syrup on top of the walnuts and what a treat they are. We’re big fans of people who make healthy eating this delicious. allroundgreatfoods.com

Anu You

Anu You produce the most beautiful soy candles and skin care products. Run by a pair of best pals, Caitríona Breathnach and Emer Halpenny’s, the girls focus on healthy, natural ways to make life more beautiful and work from year’s of experience trying and testing everything. Caitríona worried about the unnecessary chemicals in the everyday things her children used; things as basic as soap and bubble bath, and she set about learning how to provide a better alternative. The result was beautiful: cold processed soap, handmade balms and moisturisers, all of it safe, natural and what’s more – actually good for skin. anuyou.ie
