Year after year, the Pendulum Summit has attracted leading names in the fields of self-development, innovation and entrepreneurship. Past speakers have included Richard Branson, Tony Robbins and Deepak Chopra MD.
The Summit’s story began with the inspired vision and dedication of husband-and-wife team Frankie & Norma Sheahan. Frankie is a former rugby player who played for Munster and Ireland. Norma was then a keen marketeer, and is now a coach and mother of five. When Frankie’s career was ended by injury in 2009, he and Norma decided to delve into their lifelong interest in personal and professional development. This passionate interest in maximising your potential and being the best you can be ultimately led them to found the Pendulum Summit in mid-2013, with the theme of ‘getting Ireland back on track.’ In its first year, the Summit attracted around 600 attendees, but by 2018, this figure had grown to 7,000.
This year, the Pendulum Summit’s list of speakers includes the famed actors John Cleese and Colin Farrell, businesswoman and ‘first lady of football’ Baroness Karren Brady CBE, and veteran actress, comedienne and mental health advocate Ruby Wax. Another high-profile speaker this year is Jim Warny, an expert cave diver who took part in this summer’s breathtaking rescue mission of twelve young boys and their football coach in the Tham Luang cave complex of Thailand.
These speakers, as well as many others – both confirmed and yet to be announced – will be sharing what they have learned and experienced over the course of their careers, and their visions of how the business and cultural landscapes can flourish in a rapidly-changing world.
The Pendulum Summit takes place in the Convention Centre Dublin, North Wall Quay, Dublin 1, on Wednesday the 9th and Thursday the 10th of January 2019. Click here to book your tickets. To learn more about the event, check out their website:
