In our Spring 2021 issue, we had the chance to speak with one of the proprietors of Nature In, a Wicklow-based health store that has developed in leaps and bounds since opening their first outlet in Enniskerry back in 2019. They’ve since opened a second store in Newtownmountkennedy. Read on to learn more about their story!

The store with a passion for health

Many of us are going out of our way to support small local businesses at the moment. Global events have reminded us that our greatest strengths lie in collaboration and community resilience.
For this reason, we were thrilled to hear about a new health store called Nature In. Proprietor Veronika spoke to me recently about the journey of the business, from its initial opening in Enniskerry, Co. Wicklow, in June 2019, through to the unveiling of its second store in Newtownmountkennedy, Co. Wicklow, in December 2020.
She and her partner originally founded Nature In because of their deep desire to make a difference to people seeking out more conscious, healthy and eco-friendly products.
‘That’s why we decided to open a health food store, through which we could share our experience and knowledge and expand the availability of healthier living, among others,’ Veronika explained. ‘We would like to raise the awareness that all of us have our lives in our own hands, and that we always have a choice.’
As Veronika puts it, the decision to open up a second outlet was inspired by a great leap of faith. ‘When my partner lost his job, we realised we had nothing to lose! We wanted to offer people healthy options, and focus on finding brands we really loved and believed in. We are very open to people’s requests: if they come into the shop, asking for a particular item, we will do our best to order it in for them.’
We can’t wait to see how Nature In continues to grow and develop in the future!
