“Money is just another form of energy, and because giving and receiving are equally important, holding onto money for reasons such as fear of losing it blocks the inflow as well as the outflow.” In this sneak peek from our Spring 2019 issue, Amanda Collins discusses how we can lift our subconscious blocks around money. Your surroundings have a powerful effect on what you attract into your life. When the energy around you is blocked or unbalanced, your prosperity, health and relationships can be affected. Feng Shui improvements free up and enhance the flow of positive energy, remove negative influences and allow you to attract the prosperity and abundance you deserve.
To determine the flow in your environment ask yourself when you enter your home whether your energy rises or falls? Close your eyes and notice how you feel. What gets in your way? Where do you flow smoothly? Are any areas blocked off from you? Do all doors open fully? Are there large piles of clutter?
To invite in prosperity, start clearing the clutter. Throw out junk and get rid of things such as old papers, empty boxes and broken items to energise your home. This de-cluttering should extend to your car, purse, garage, computer inbox and desktop. Next, decide which broken items are draining your prosperity and which can be repaired. Let go of anything broken, cracked or chipped that cannot be repaired. Replace burned out light bulbs, for if your rooms are dark, so is your financial future. Repair broken mirrors for they reflect how you see yourself. Clean windows for they tell you how you look out on the world.
Dead plants symbolise dead energy; replace them with living plants to grow your wealth. Tighten loose doorknobs and handles. If your handles are loose you cannot get a grip on your money! Tighten them and wealth will be within you grasp.
A new wallet or purse attracts money. Also remove scraps of paper, credit cards for closed accounts or for those you never use. Be sure your wallet is clean, neat, and organised
Areas to Enhance, In Order of Importance
- Front Door: This is where all the energy enters. A clean welcoming front door attracts prosperity.
- Southeast: Associated with wealth, make sure there is no clutter in this area. Write affirmations to support wealth and place them here, as well as a symbolic item that makes you feel abundant.
- North: Associated with career. Make sure this area is open and flowing. Write and place an affirmation about the success of your career.
- Northwest: Also called ‘heaven’s gate’ and symbolising helpful people. Keep this area bright and open, with no trashcans outside or inside so you can create a clear channel for energy to enter into your home and life.
- Kitchen: Clear clutter including old, stale foods in cupboards and refrigerator. Use your oven; an unused stove implies untapped resources and opportunities. Kitchen counters should be clear with only items you use on a daily basis.
Lastly, other keys to prosperity are related to your beliefs about your deservedness. Do you really believe you are deserving and can be prosperous? I invite you to repeat these affirmations daily to attract prosperity: I deserve to be prosperous and wealthy; The more I give, the more I receive; I am a trust fund baby of the universe; I am a magnet to money.
Money is a form of energy that needs to flow through your life, not just into it. Living generously within your means makes space for even greater abundance. If you don’t yet have ample money to share, give as generously as you can of your time, energy, compassion and appreciation. Express gratitude. The more you are grateful for what you have, no matter how small, the more you will have to be grateful for, including money.

At the very intimate and powerful workshop in Sierra Madre we uncovered a huge piece of information: We have been hiding our money so we can find it.
What was really amazing was the process of information that brought this answer to us. I was working with one of the participants on money and money flow. She has done an enormous amount of work around this subject over the years, so we were determined to get to the root and finally put it to rest and allow abundance to come in all its glory.
Firstly, we discovered she didn’t want the highest answer. So we shifted that. The channel said it had something to do with her mother. Her parents were well off and gave her what she wanted most of the time. One part of the process, in going to a specific age, prompted her to remember a story about her mother chasing her and breaking a heel off her shoe. That information knocked me against the wall energetically. Was it about her mother’s high heels?!
There was a pause. A silence. If I did not have the clear faith that I do in my channel, I would have doubted myself. All of a sudden the rest of the memory flooded in. She remembered discovering that her mother hid money in her shoe, and she discovered the treasure! She continued ‘visiting’ there often in the hunt for the buried treasure and ever since, she had been “hiding her money so she can have the thrill of looking for it!” If we are looking for something, we don’t find it. Part of this is that, energetically, it means we have to hold ourselves in the state of searching because that is where the excitement and charge is. We then put that charge out to the Universe that says, “Help me keep searching.”
It’s such a specific incident but with such a universally relatable lesson a brilliant example of how we can hold onto a charge that does not support us, because for some reason or another, and sparked by who knows what initial event, we get those bloody endorphins dumped into our systems. It’s our right and ability however to correct those faulty neural pathways embedded from incorrect belief systems that we adopted years or lifetimes ago. We must create that new charge to create and embrace and enjoy everything we know we desire.
To begin to create that charge, let’s look at what it is and imagine the feeling together. The new charge is the effortless creation of money, consistently. The new charge is healthy bodies, consistently. The new charge is loving relationships, consistently.
If we are the charge that creates, and every day I experience more to show that we are, then we have to choose the charge we want to be – consciously! No more drama, and lots more peace and joy in every aspect of our lives. Consciously choose the charge you want to send out. Love yourself to know you can BE PEACE. It is our time, guys. Seize it!

Q: I really want to make money from working at something I love but I’m not sure how to approach this or even what direction to go. Have you any advice on this? Work and money can be a slow process to get where you want to be, I just wondered if you have any great insights or advice to share on this? Especially as a woman who seems to be working in things you love!

You have to understand that money is an emotional creation, like everything in the Universe, it is created by love or the lack of it. The more you love money, love making it, love creating it, respect it, honour it and cherish it, the more it shows up for you. Like any great relationship, it responds to you the more you want to be with it and value it.
Our society and religions teach us this is not okay, that we are “better people” to live without more than we “need,” that we have to struggle and work hard to have the right to have enough, that we are not worthy, that money corrupts our moral fiber, and many other false beliefs that limit the flow to us of the abundant wealth in this world.
Let’s look at a quick breakdown of what is going on with you. The first limiting belief to address is: “work and money can be a slow process to get where you want to be.” Why? Who gave you that thought or belief? You certainly didn’t come IN with it! You came in knowing you were all possibility! Invite yourself to expand into the new thought that there is nothing easier and more effortless than doing what you love.
Next, get clear about what that is. What rocks your boat? What are you passionate about? What gives you that excited feeling when you think about doing it? Now start exploring your possibilities about THAT. How can you begin? Let yourself play in and accept all fabulous possibilities available to you!
The last hidden belief here is that you don’t really believe that “working” and “fun” and “loving it” go together. I do a million things that others call work, but for me, they are exciting expressions of creativity that I choose to play in. Repeat after me: I love life!
Right now you are saying to money: I don’t need to love you, but I expect you to be in this relationship with me. I am making you the excuse of my lack of creation, because I am not choosing and deciding what I want. I am not taking any action to invest in this relationship. If this were a personal relationship with another being, how much do you think they would want to participate in this with you? Most of us would see the lack of intention and commitment and run the other way.
Of course, like anything, the first step in creation is loving yourself. Be the person you would want to fall in love with, and be dedicated to yourself and the love for your own being. Then you will want to give you everything, including doing what you love and making money joyfully doing that. State with clarity and knowing: I Am the God of Me that gets to create me the way I choose. And then choose. You are worth it and you deserve it.

People have started turning away from large-scale, anonymous companies and towards smaller, local, more authentic ventures. More and more, people want to know the person behind the product they’ve just purchased. They want to see their own personal values being upheld and mirrored in as many exchanges that they have as possible, every single day.
Seth Godin, a leading thinker in business, talks about this shift in his new book,The Icarus Deception. “What matters to people now is connecting with other like-minded people; including those they choose to do business with.” He has coined this new economy “The Connections Economy”.
Godin describes a new landscape of smaller businesses whose size enables them to deal directly with their customers. These new ventures are more personal, non-corporate and authentic entities set up to do something different and important – both for the personal creators and for people who deal with them. Fantastically, the digital and social revolution has enabled such a shift, giving small enterprises access to global niche markets, allowing them to be economically viable for the few who run them.
From a big business point of view, all is not lost either. Larger companies can use the size of their organisations for a significant social purpose and reconnect with their customers. This is the flipside of the scale of their operations: they can actually make a very positive and real impact on the world. Take, for example, the World’s number one brand: Coke. Coca-Cola, having used the image of the Polar Bear in their advertising campaigns for the last few decades, are now working jointly with the WWF to protect the Arctic – the habitat of the polar bears. Another company giving back is clothing brand Timberland. Since the massive earthquake in 2010, Timberland have been working with a local Haitian NGO to upskill farmers on sustainable farming and improving the forestry of the country.
How reassuring to know that the opinion and decisions of a single individual – when expressed and acted upon – can snowball globally and have a real impact by influencing the ways in which large-scale organisations work.
